Just put the heavier clothes (jeans, etc.) on each side equally. There's no way really to be 100% right as once the machine starts and fills with water, it agitates the clothes any way. If it does unbalance then just put some clothes on the opposite side to even it out.

What is the drum on a washing machine?

The drum on a washing machine is the part of the machine where you place your clothes to be washed. It rotates during the wash cycle to agitate the clothes and help remove dirt and stains. The drum is typically made of stainless steel or porcelain enamel.

How does a front load washing machine work?

A front load washing machine works by filling the drum with water and detergent, then rotating the drum to agitate the clothes and clean them. The drum spins at a high speed during the rinse cycle to remove excess water from the clothes. Finally, the machine uses a drain pump to expel the dirty water and a spin cycle to extract more water before the cycle is complete.

Should a top load washing machine drum wobble back and forth at rest?

This is normal for most washing machine designs. The reason is to enable access to spring attachments which allow the barrel/drum to move during cycles when machine is operating. If there was no 'wobble' the building housing your laundry machines would shake apart with the centrifugal forces created.

What makes a washing machine vibrate on a fast spin cycle?

An out of balance load. To much weight on one side od the drum. Avoid washing heavy items like jeans, with light weight items like t-shirts. The jeans weigh more when wet and will put the load out of balance. If your load starts to shake, open lid, wait until the drum stops spinning, then even out the load in the drum.

Why does the washing machine make a loud banging noise?

A loud banging noise in a washing machine could indicate an unbalanced load, loose drum components, or a problem with the suspension system. It's important to check for these issues and address them to prevent further damage to the machine.

Should a top load washing machine agitator wobble back and forth when you touch it?

Are you speaking of the drum wobbling or the whole machine? If the drum, when the drum is spinning or when off and stopped? If when the drum is spinning, it wobbles somewhat especially if unbalanced (laundry only on one side). If the whole machine, there are leveling feet on the botton of the washing machine. The height adjustment is made by turning each foot which are threaded into the base frame. Many floors are sloped, this is why the machine has to be leveled first.

What is wrong with your washing machine if it's making weird thumping noises?

Weird thumping noises from a washing machine could be caused by an unbalanced load, loose components inside the machine, or an issue with the drum or belt. Try redistributing the clothes to balance the load, check for any loose parts, and inspect the drum and belt for any signs of damage. If the problem persists, it may require professional repair.

What is the difference between a regular washer and a front load washer?

Front-load simply means that the washing machine door is on the front face of the washing machine, rather than a lid that lifts from the of the washing machine (top load). One would 'load' the clothes into the washer through the open front, hence the name front-load.

Front load washing machines typically do not have dust filters. However, some models may have lint traps or screens to catch lint or debris. Regular cleaning of the gasket and drum can help prevent dust and dirt buildup in a front load washing machine.

Why does a washing machine shake when spinning?

A washing machine may shake when spinning due to an uneven load distribution in the drum. This can happen if the laundry is not balanced or if there is a heavy item on one side. Additionally, an unlevel floor or an issue with the machine's leveling legs can also cause shaking during the spin cycle.
