Prepare the balloon by placing scotch tape on opposite sides. You can push the skewer through without it popping but you need to pop the balloon soon after pulling the skewer out because it will loose air. You can make that part of the act--to demonstrate that it is a real balloon and to "hide the evidence".

How can you stick a stick through a balloon?

You can stick a stick through a balloon by first inserting the stick through an uninflated balloon, then inflating the balloon while holding the stick in place to prevent it from puncturing the balloon. This creates an illusion that the stick has been pushed through the balloon.

Why doesn't a balloon pop with a needle through it?

When you insert a needle into a balloon, it creates a small hole. The air inside the balloon escapes gradually through this hole, preventing the balloon from popping. The pressure inside the balloon decreases as the air escapes, relieving the stress and preventing a sudden burst.

How is the contact different between a balloon and sweater and a balloon and the wall?

Balloons may stick to a knit sweater, but normally the electromagnetic force will oppose it. However, once a balloon is rubbed on a sweater, it can stick to a wall (or other surface) by creating an electrostatic (magnetic) field with the stationary wall.

How does a needle pass through a balloon without popping it?

A needle can pass through a balloon without popping it because the rubber of the balloon is stretchy and can temporarily seal around the needle, preventing air from escaping and causing the balloon to pop.

Why will a balloon pop if it gets hot?

When a balloon is exposed to heat, the air molecules inside the balloon start moving faster and exert more pressure on the walls of the balloon. This increased pressure can cause the balloon to expand beyond its capacity, leading to it popping.

Is a hypothesis a possible explanation for a set of observations?

No. But it is what you think will happen to the expiriment e.g. "I think the balloon will pop when I stick a pin in it." Someone else might have a different hypothesis "I think the balloon will not pop when I stick a pin in it" So basically its what you think will happen, hope that helps!

How can you put a needle in a balloon without popping it?

at the part where you blow it up Take a piece of tape and place it over the outside of the balloon. Poke the needle through the tape and through the surface of the balloon. The balloon will not pop because the surface of the balloon cannot expand, thus popping the balloon.
