Bats use ultra sound by sending out ultra sound waves and then when the bounce back the know exactly where everything is even in the dark.

I will work better with ultra sound because all of the wave will bounce back otherwise some of the wave will be absorbed.

What animals use sound waves?

A bat uses clicks called echolocation. The sound waves bounce off whatever that certain species of bat feeds on. ( Bugs, fruit etc...) The bat's excellent hearing picks up that sound wave that bounces back which helps it find the exact location of it's prey.

Which bat makes a'metallic buzz 'sound?

The Brazilian Free-tailed bat is known for its unique metallic buzzing sound produced using its echolocation system as it hunts for insects in flight. This sound is created by the rapid frequency of the bat's echolocation calls, which can sometimes be heard by humans as a buzzing noise.

How do bats use the Doppler effect?

A bat can tell how big an insect is based on the intensity of the echo. A smaller object will reflect less of the sound wave, and so will produce a less intense echo. The bat can sense in which direction the insect is moving based on the pitch of the echo. If the insect is moving away from the bat, the returning echo will have a lower pitch than the original sound, while the echo from an insect moving toward the bat will have a higher pitch. This difference is due to the Doppler effect

You see the cricket ball hitting the bat first and then hear the sound?

Light travels faster (much faster) than sound.

What is ultrasonic sound?

Ultrasonic sound refers to sound waves with frequencies higher than the upper threshold of human hearing, typically greater than 20 kHz. These sound waves are used in various applications such as medical imaging, cleaning, and distance measuring due to their ability to penetrate materials and produce detailed results.
