Friction is suppose to slow down things and yes it can.

HOW DOES: both 2 surfaces collide with each other, causing heat. Heat will slow down the object by "meeting" with the 2 surfaces.

I hope I helped :)

How does gravity slow down a car?

Gravity itself does not slow things down (the Moon still keeps going round the Earth and the Earth still keeps going round the Sun). It's friction that slows things down. I have to say that there is likely to be more friction if there's more gravity but that's a secondary effect.

What force caused the brakes on the car to slow you down?

Friction

What force could be added to slow a car down when it is going down a ramp?

Friction between the tires and the road surface can slow down a car going down a ramp. The brakes can also be applied to introduce additional friction and slow the car further. Additionally, aerodynamic drag can play a minor role in slowing down the car at higher speeds.

What is the friction that causes a car to slow down when you take your foot off the accelerator?

Rolling friction By Alex ceron

Does friction help objects speed up or slow down?

Friction typically slows down objects by opposing their motion. It generates heat by resisting the sliding or rolling of objects against each other. However, in some cases, such as with car brakes or shoes on a rough surface, friction can be used to slow down objects intentionally.

Why does your car slow down while driving and giving it gas to the floor?

Because of friction

Is friction only usful for a car when it is slowing down?

No. Friction is useful every time there is a change to how the car is moving. Getting it moving, getting it to turn as well as getting it to slow down.

What makes your car slow down?

"Brakes" make your car slow down.Additional answerSo does friction and air resistance and the rolling resistance of the rubber tyres.

Does friction slow down a car?

For the most part yes, but the car depending on the aerodynamics of the design can resist most of it.
