The air you breath has to be at higher pressure to fill your lungs. The gas goes into your blood. It takes time to come out, so if you surface too fast you get bubbles in your blood, and it will kill you. It's called "the bends" from the extreme pain making people go into the fetal position.

What happens to the buoyant force of a submerged submarine when water is taken into its tanks and it dives?

Unless the flooding and buoyancy was controlled, the submarine would continue to dive into the depths, possibly to be crushed by the great pressure of water.

What is difference between thrust and pressure?

Thrust refers to the force exerted by a fluid or gas on a surface, typically in a specific direction. It is a measure of the force that propels an object forward. Pressure, on the other hand, is the force exerted by a fluid per unit area. It is a measure of how forceful the fluid is acting on a surface, regardless of the direction.

What type of energy does a boy have who jumps up and dives off of a diving board?

Kinetic energy, and gravitational potential energy.

Does the pressure is affected if is difference liquids?

Yes. Pressure of a liquid could be considered in two ways. 1. The subsurface pressures. 1 ATM is the pressure of our atmosphere on earth which is equivalent to a pressure of 14.7 PSI. This is the same pressure as would be exerted by 34 feet of water. So, if one dives to 34 feet, one would actually feel 2 ATM of pressure or 29.4 PSI TOTAL. However, this is the same pressure as is developed by 760mm (or 30 inches) of mercury. So a diver would feel the same 2ATM (29.4 PSI TOTAL) in less than 3 feet of Mercury. 2. Partial Pressures & Vapor Pressures. The partial pressures and vapor pressures are dependent on the type of liquid and the temperature. When the partial pressures or vapor pressures reach 1 ATM, the substance boils. So, for example, the vapor pressure of Methanol at 64.7 °C, 148.4 °F is 1 ATM, and thus it will boil. However the vapor pressure of pure water at the same pressure is significantly less than 1 ATM, and the water does not boil. This is used to distill substances. However, as with water/alcohol mixes, the water does exert a certain vapor partial pressure on the mix and one typically gets a mixture with a significant fraction of water in the final product.

A 65 kg person dives into the water from the 10m platform what is her speed as she enters the water?

14 m/s because Vf^2=Vi^2 + 2a(delta x). Her acceleration is 10 m/s^2. So 0^2 + 2(10)(10) = 200 sqrt 200 = 14.1421 so with sf's the answer is 14

As a person dives toward the bottom of a swimming pool the pressure increases noticeably Does the buoyant force also increase Justify your answer Neglect any change in water density with depth?

The reason why things float is that gravity addresses only the mass regardless the volume. so when a person dives deep, although he moves away the same volume, the buoyant force increases because the pressure increases, and sice the pressure affects the body from every where the buoyant force increase.

What happens if a submarine dives to deep?

The pressure gets too great and the submarine implodes. The deeper you go under water the more pressure there is.

How does gender affect participants?

Gender can affect participants in sports if strength has alot to do with the sport. It may effect the difficulty of the sport. For example in springboard diving, men tend to have greater difficulty dives than those of women because men are stereotypically stronger thus, have the capability to perform more complex dives.
