try pushing your hand through water palm first, then try pushing your hand thorugh water thumb first. Notice that thumb first goes much easier? When you push your hand through the water narrow side first as opposed to wide side first you've done an effort to streamline it. Stream lined means that it will pass through the surrounding media with less resistance, which means(if done to a vehicle) that it can go faster/longer for the same energy.

Air is made of tiny particles. If you need to move an object through some air, it runs into those particles. It has to push them out of the way. The faster it moves, the more air particles it runs into. Friction is the particles of the object, striking the particles of air.

Streamlining reduces the area of the front of the object as it moves forwards, so the air flows around the object rather than being pushed forward by it.

Check out the link.

See how the smoke is not pushing against a large barrier at the front of the car, but curves around it. also, compare the profile and aerodynamics of the car to those of the caravan. The slanty contours of the car knock air (and smoke) particles out of its way; the particles strike it a glancing blow instead of hitting head on.

It's like Wonder Woman being shot at. If the bullets hit her shiny breastplate, they would hurt -- and push her back. But it's much easier to deflect a bullet than to stop it cold, so she knocks them aside with her shiny wrist bands instead. So now, instead of Wonder Woman, your car. Instead of bullets, air particles. Instead of the bullets moving toward Wonder Woman, the bullets hang there and she moves toward them. Other than that: same thing.

Or, consider a parachute. It's the opposite of streamlining. It's designed to run head-on into as many air particles as it possibly can, and not let them slip around the sides. As a result, the falling object is greatly slowed.

Streamlining is the shaping of the outer surface of an object so that when it is moving the paths of airflow (streamlines) tend to exactly follow that outer surface with no turbulence. This usually requires testing of models of the object in a windtunnel.

The elimination of turbulent airflow significantly reduces air resistance.

the shape could be changed through streamlining, the changing of shape leads to reduction of friction

Streamlining allows the layers of fluid (air or water) to pass over the object more easily so reducing friction to the movement of the object.

Give ways to decrease friction?

Its reduce by following ways By polishing the surface use lubricants by streamlining by air cushion by converting sliding friction in to rolling friction

What is streamlining in friction?

streamlining is the process by which the designs of moving tools like cars are made easy for the air to flow, to avoid air resistance or friction.

What is friction and streamlining?

Streamlining is a way to help an item travel faster. Friction is nearly the exact opposite, as it will slow an item down.

How can the magnitude of friction be reduce?

Some ways to reduce the magnitude of friction are to use lubricants as they fill up in the irregularities and make the surface smoother, switch from sliding kinetic friction to rolling kinetic friction and by smooth surfaces that rub against each other.by polishing by streamlining in fluids . by ball bearing

By streamlining the aircraft.

How does streamlining reduce water Resistance?

no

Does streamlining produce more or less friction?

In general it means that there will be less surface friction on the material. On vehicles this can be done by reducing the impact area at the front and by integrating smooth curves for the air to follow. Surface polishing can also increase airflow and reduce friction.
