Kinetic energy = (1/2) x (M) x (V2)

160 = (1/2) x (2) x (V2)

160 = V2

V = sqrt(160) = 12.65 meters per second (rounded)

Energy in the form of moition is?

The energy you put into something to make it move at a steady speed is called KINETIC ENERGY. It's the Kinetic Energy of a car that makes the brakes hot when you try to stop. The kinetic energy of the moving car becomes heat in the brakes of the stationary car which has lost its kinetic energy. There are two ways to get a car to the top of a hill. One is to start at the bottom and drive the car to the top and then stop again. This way, the engine pushed the car up the hill. The other way is to start a long way before the hill and build up speed along a flat road. Then you can turn off the engine and the car will coast to the top of the hill before it stops. This way, the engine put a lot of Kinetic Energy into the weight of the car before it got to the hill, and it was that Kinetic Energy which was used to get the car up the hill.

Does a yo yo use motion energy at the start?

Yes. A yo-yo has some kinetic energy imparted into it by the flick of the wrist at the start of its motion.

What happens to the kinetic energy when gas is heated?

What does Kinetic energy of carbon dioxide molecules change as the carbon dioxide is heated? Temperature measures the average Kinetic energy of the molecules of a substance. Kinetic energy = ½ * mass * velocity^2 As temperature doubles, the kinetic energy doubles, and the velocity of the molecules quadruples. Or course, temperature must be measured in Kelvin or Rankine degrees. These temperature scales have their 0 at absolute 0.

What happens when energy is taken away from matter?

The substance's particals will start slowing down and come closer together. As kinetic energy is removed from a substance, it will do the opposite as when kinetic energy is added to a substance.

Can energy change form and why?

energy can change form. it can change from kinetic to potential, or kinetic into heat or vise versa. the reason why is because you start out with a type of energy, such as being still and then moving. in that case you are going from potential to kinetic. energy can neither be created nor destroyed. there is always energy in everything you do such as kicking a soccer ball which creates heat on the ground, and then kinetic, and then {finally} sound energy. i might not of answered your question exactly how you wanted it to be answered...sorry for the inconvenience.Etcgirl :)

How does a volcano represent kinetic and potential energy?

a volcano has both potential and kinetic energy because when the molten rocks have no moment before the irruption ............... when the irruption is above to start, the potential energy turns into kinetic energy and irrupts ........... the lava slows down and stop ( potential energy )

Describe the energy conversions that take place in the pendulum?

In a pendulum, the energy transformations involve potential energy being converted to kinetic energy as the pendulum swings back and forth. At the highest point of the swing, the pendulum has maximum potential energy, which is then converted to maximum kinetic energy at the lowest point of the swing. This process continues as the pendulum oscillates, with energy being continually converted between potential and kinetic forms.
