Heat is created in the body as a by-product of the electro-chemical processes of the various sub-systems (e.g., cardio-vascular, pulmonary, skeletal, etc.). So by activity or simply by living (i.e., our basal metabolisms), our bodies create heat, which is why we're called "warm blooded."

But without heat transfers and regulating systems, our bodies could easily overheat, which we call fevers. So our cardio-vascular system carries heat away through the blood stream. Our pulmonary system does it by exhaling warm breath whose heat came from the blood that flows through the lungs to release CO2 and gain oxygen. And our skin removes heat through radiation and through the evaporation of perspiration.

The thermostat for regulating that heat is the hypothalamus section of our brains.

Describe the two ways that heat is removed from your body?

Heat is removed from the body through radiation, where heat is transferred from the body to the surrounding environment through electromagnetic waves, and through convection, where heat is transferred by the movement of air or water across the skin, carrying away excess heat.

How is energy transferred from an ice pack?

Energy is transferred from an ice pack through the process of conduction. When an ice pack comes into contact with a warm body, heat is transferred from the body to the ice pack, causing the ice to melt and absorb the heat energy.

Is body heat convection heat?

Yep, the heat is transferred via convection when fluid flow is involved, which is primarily blood flow. For example, you hands are cold, then warm blood flow helps to warm them up. That's convection. Sure conduction is also involved. When heat must pass solid barrier such as cell walls then the heat is transferred via conduction.

Body heat tranferred to the air by what?

Body heat is transferred to the air primarily through convection and radiation. Convection occurs as the warm air around the body rises and cooler air moves in to take its place, carrying away heat. Radiation involves the transfer of heat through electromagnetic waves from the body to the surrounding air.

What do you call the heat transfer from one body to another?

The heat transfer from one body to another is called conduction, convection, or radiation, depending on the method through which heat is transferred.

Where can you find some examples of equilibrium?

in case of transfer of heat. the heat is transferred from a body at higher temperature to the body at lower temperature. the heat is transferred till the time the temperature of both the bodies becomes same.

What three ways do you lose heat?

You can lose heat through convection, where heat is transferred through air or water currents; conduction, when heat is transferred through direct contact with a colder object; and radiation, when heat is emitted as infrared radiation from your body.

How is heat transferred in a hot water bottle?

Heat is transferred in a hot water bottle through conduction. When the bottle is filled with hot water, heat is transferred from the water to the bottle's material which then warms up the surrounding area it comes into contact with when placed against the body.

When the heater blows hot air around to heat your house this is an example of heat being transferred by?

The heat is being transferred by convection.

Is heat transferred through a glider by convection or conduction and how?

Heat is typically transferred through a glider by convection. As the glider moves through the air, heat is transferred by the circulation of air around the glider. Conduction, the transfer of heat through direct contact, is less common in this scenario.

Transfer of thermal energy of a hotter object to any cooler one is?

known as heat transfer, which occurs through three main mechanisms: conduction, convection, and radiation. In conduction, heat is transferred through direct contact between molecules. In convection, heat is transferred through the movement of a fluid. In radiation, heat is transferred through electromagnetic waves.
