What does your body do when you touch something hot?
solid particles vibrate more or less according to the heat. they
are always moving, only at -270 degrees are they completely still.
our skin particles are used to being at around 2o degrees so are
used to vibrating at that level. if it gets colder or hotter then
they vibrate more and less then they are supposed to so sometimes
it hurts. this is also partly why we shiver.
