US and Imperial volumes with the same name (quart) are different!
Dry volumes and liquid volumes are different in the US system: Just always use the metric system whenever possible to avoid confusion!
(Americans even spell differently: US liters = British litres)
Use (slightly less than) 2 liters for 2 quarts if you use US measurements and two and a quarter liters if you are using Imperial measures when it is not critical.
