Matter is thought to exist within four currently accepted states in nature but if we force inter moleculer force of attraction to make them weak and more apart then we can find more than 4 states of matter. The first state - is Solid with the lowest molecular movement. The next is Liquid, with the second least movement. The third is Gas, with the second highest movement. The fourth is Plasma, which is the highest movement state of matter at current.Beside these four there is one more state of matter it is called as Bose-Eienstien Condensate which is a state at extremly low temperature (i.e. absolute zero ) .It was proposed By Satendre Nath Bose and later on it was proved by Eienstien .So we can say that there are infinite states of matter because molecular force if attractions defines a substance state in nature and this molecular force of attraction can be changed by using extreme energy.

How many common states of matter are there?

There are four states of matter in the universe although only three natural accruing ones on earth. They are solid, liquid, gas, and plasma. Solids molecules are vibrating but not moving relative to one another. Liquid molecules are tumbling over each other. Gas molecules are breaking away from and colliding into each other, and plasma is a super heated gas an electrically charged ( ionized ) state of matter found naturally throughout the Universe.

How many states of matter are in water?

There are three states of matter in water: solid (ice), liquid (water), and gas (water vapor). Each state is determined by the temperature and pressure conditions.

How many states of matter not including plasma?

there's solids, liquids, and gases, but there is also another state of matter called Bose Einstein Condensates. which is matter once it reaches O Kelvin ( when all matter particules are so frozen they no longer move) this substance is not found in any part of the universe for all we know because there is no place that is 0 Kelvin

How many states of matter are found in water?

Five states of matter can be found on Earth. Four of them occur naturally (Solid, Liquid, Gas and Plasma) and the fifth has only ever been created in the laboratory (Bose-Einstein condensate).

What lies at the edges of our universe What is dark matter?

We know that dark matter exists because it got gravity, though it is invisible. It hold galaxy and Universe. There is a theory there many other parallel universe outside our universe and dark matter holds those universe up and some scientists says that dark matter are just mass of the matter of the parallel universe. It sounds crazy but that is the Law of Physics. However there is not exact explanation of what dark matter really is, so there are still Noble Prices for those who can come up with a reasonable explanation. Weird thing is, there are many other parallel universe, so there is someone like me from another universe typing this answer and there is someone from another universe that is the same as you read reading this right now, man that is creepy. So what lies on the edge of the Universe? Another parallel universe. And the theory for that is 'String Theory' and 'The M theory'.

What is true of all matter?

It takes up space and has mass.

Is the matter which makes up the universe the same with matter that makes up living things?

matter is just a broad definition for different substances that make up life. This may sound confusing, so here's a better way to put it. Matter can exist in four states: solid, liquid, gas, and plasma. Water can be a liquid, gas, or solid so it is made up of matter, or lots of atoms of the same type. Also, oxygen is a gas so it is made up of matter, or atoms of oxygen. Does that mean they are the same things? No! Each element in the periodic table is made up of a different matter, thus living things and the universe are made out of many different mixed matters. However, there is no difference in science. Anything made up of many atoms of the same type is made out of matter.

What is the most common form of matter?

Dark energy is believed to make up about 73% of the mass of the Universe; dar matter about 23%; and normal matter - the kind we know most about - about 4%. In the case of normal matter, most of it is still in the form of hydrogen.

How many states of matter are there one two three or four?

I know of 7 states of matter, although of those, there are only 4 that you would be likely to encounter here on Earth. The common phases of matter are solid, liquid, gas, and plasma. The more unusual phases are degenerate matter (found in neutron stars) and Bose-Einstein condensates (found in the laboratory only), and the super-fluid phase of liquid helium, also found only in the laboratory.
