In 1947, Raytheon demonstrated the world's first microwave oven and called it a "Radarange," the winning name in an employee contest. Housed in refrigerator-sized cabinets, the first microwave ovens cost between $2,000 and $3,000. Sometime between 1952-55, Tappan introduced the first home model priced at $1295. In 1965 Raytheon acquired Amana Refrigeration. Two years later, the first countertop, domestic oven was introduced. It was a 100-volt microwave oven, which cost just under $500 and was smaller, safer and more reliable than previous models.

microwaves :)
In contrast to Howard's boisterous greeting, Angela made a very tiny gesture, a "micro wave," if you will.
The amplitude of the wave determines how much energy it is carrying. A wave with a greater amplitude carries more energy than a wave with a smaller amplitude.
The cost of equipment to harness wave power can vary depending on the size and technology used. On average, it can range from $3 million to $7 million per megawatt of capacity installed. Additional costs may include installation, maintenance, and grid connection.
You can observe the effects of wave motion for a baseball because when the baseball is pitched or hit, it creates a disturbance in the air that propagates as a wave. This wave causes the baseball to move in a characteristic pattern, such as curving in a curveball pitch due to the rotation of the ball.
