For their incredible length, Diplodocid dinosaurs were very lightweight, partially because of their narrow build. Dinosaurs from the genus Diplodocus weighed about 10 to 20 tons, even though they measured about 90 feet long. Another member of the Diplodocid family, Apatosaurus, was much more heavily built, measuring 85 feet long, but weighing 24 to 32 tons.
