Next time, try to be more specific. There are Baseball bats and the flying mammal. There are wooden baseball bats and metal ones. And don't even get me started on the different breeds of flying bats! (over 1,100!)

The smallest bat is the Kitti's Hog-nosed Bat (also known as the bumblebee bat) and it weighs less than ¼ of an ounce.

The largest species of bat is the Giant Golden-crowned Flying-fox, and it weighs roughly 2-3 pounds.

Now, about baseball bats. Bats for little league (8-10 years old) range from

16-20 ounces. For youth league (11-12 year-olds), bats around 18-23 ounces are recommended, and for high school/college players' bats can weigh from 27-31 ounces.

There are also fungo bats (specifically designed to hit balls tossed up in the air by the batter, not pitched balls) and those weigh 17 to 22 ounces.

As long as the bat is solid wood and has no tape or pine tar or Stickum further up the bat handle than 18 inches and is no longer than 42 inches and not more than 2.61 inches in diameter at its thickest part, its ok. Some batters like a light bat, down to about 26 ounces, some batters like a heavy bat, up to about 54 ounces.
