Is plasticine a solid?

Answer:

yes I agree that it is a solid because it does not flow it has a fixed shape and a fixed volume. The fixed shape is the challenging one to explain because when you apply a force its shape can change but generally it stays in the shape you put it in. Plasticine is a type of modelling clay that never hardens

would the particles be more spaced out or would that make it a liquid?

personally i think it is neither a solid nor liquid because solid shapes do not change shape because the particles are so close together and cannot move whereas liquid can move around each other and have weak bonds which is why they can move. plasticine can get squished because there is air inside it but it has a limit when you cant squish it any more it has reached its limit. the plasticine only becomes solid when you squish it together so the particles are stuck together.

Can a hose from a fire hydrent blast blow a hole in you?

hahaha.. no offense, but that's a silly question. and no, it can't. because in science if we go back to the "PARTICLE THEORY" it will probably answer your question. see,we are all solids, with liquid inside us yes, but we humans are SOLIDS... water is a LIQUID, and solids particles and closer together to block off and other particle matter weaker than it. and yes the pressure might be very strong. but as i said, solids particles and closer together to block off and other particle matter weaker than it.. so i think that answers your question.. Have a good one Mate! :)

Which is the gas stored in the fire extinguishers which when realeased forms solids?

There is no type of fire extinguisher that forms solids when released. They release either a gas or liquid or combination. Some liquids may turn into solids when they dry. Some gases (such as CO2) might make OTHER materials turn into solids.

What is the force that acts on subatomic particles?

I think it might be electrostatic force! This is the force that acts between the particles!
