Such a question is broad.

Many factors could be detrimentally affected by the inability of one or more individual or group of cells to function correctly:

  • The interruption of signal transduction pathways.
  • Problems with the cell cycle, which may result in cancerous cells that avoid the G0 phase.
  • Protein receptors and signaling molecules of a given cell unable to function properly, starting a chain effect.
  • The diffusion, active transport, phagocytosis, etc. of and within cells that were not meant to do so.
  • Improperly expressed genes.
  • Many, many more possibilities and variations, especially overlapping.

The end result on an organism would depend on effect in totality as well as the organism itself; prokaryotes and single-celled eukaryotes, for instance, wouldn't have much possibility to live in a healthy fashion!

It can be assumed that this effect will be negative, noticeably or not, in almost every given case..

A part of a multicellular organism that acts as a unit to help the organism perform one or more organic function is?

Besides of this question being horribly stated, the answer would either be one of the following: An organ, Tissue, or System of Organs. A system of organs is the most complex here, so i would think that to not be the answer. Now, the question states "one or more organic functions" so i would believe this to be "Organ" since a tissue can only perform one particular function. Above all, do not quote me. Okay, i went through and checked the information. Organ is correct. My source is a Biology book, common knowledge and thought.

Do leaves matter when you are planting a plant?

It is a good idea to plant it in such a way that the leaves are above ground, so that they are exposed to sunlight and can perform their function. However, plants are very flexible organisms, and if you do happen to bury some leaves, the plant will probably suffer no real harm.

Why is the function above a rational function?

If you want to ask questions about the "above", then I suggest that you make sure that there is something that is above.
