Heat is the average kinetic energy at the molecular level. A planes forward momentum and kinetic energy as a whole does not affect the kinetic energy of the individual particles with respect to each other. So you don't see a temperature change.

yeah it is. Cause the more temperature the more average K.T. For having more kinetic energy the no. of collisions will increase. As a result the heat is produced and the temperature will increase. And we all know we can easily measure the temperature of a gas by using thermometer.
