in a metric ton you wold have 1 Mega-gram of water. so the number of water moles would be the mass (1Ton) divided by the molar mass of water (18.06g/mol) and this will give 18016000 mol (1.802*10^7 mol) now multiply that by avogadro's constant 6.022*10^23 it will give 1.121*10^31 molecules of water, this means you have: 1120595200000000000000000000000 molecules of Oxygen and, double for hydrogen: 2241190400000000000000000000000 molecules.

Since we know the Atomic Mass of hydrogen (1.00794) and oxygen (15.9994), and we know that 1 ton of water contains 2 hydrogen atoms for every oxygen atom. Just with that we can calculate:

The percentage of mass of water that is hydrogen is ((1.00794 x 2) / ((1.00794 x 2) + 15.9994)) x 100 = 11.189%

and oxygen: (15.9994 / ((1.00794 x 2) + 15.9994)) x 100 = 88.810%

So in total mass, one ton of water is 888.1kg of oxygen and despite having twice as many atoms, only 111.9kg of hydrogen.

How much hydrogen and oxygen does water have?

Each molecule of water contains one atom of oxygen and two atoms of hydrogen.

In an electrolysis of water what produces more gas hydrogen or oxygen?

As each water molecule contains one atom of Oxygen and two atoms of Hydrogen you would expect electrolysis of water to produce twice as much Hydrogen as Oxygen.

Volume of gas are not equal during electrolysis of water?

As one molecule of water is composed of two atoms of Hydrogen to one atom of oxygen electrolysis of water should produce twice as much Hydrogen as it does Oxygen.

What ingredients do water have?

Hydrogen and oxygen molecules. Two hydrogen, one oxygen.

How much oxygen is there in water?

The element "h2o" is water. It was one hydrogen atom and two oxygen atoms. This is completely backwards. The "2" means 2 hydrogens and ONE oxygen. Another term for water is Di-hydrogen-oxide. Di = Two > Hydrogen = Hydrogen [duh] > Oxide = Oxygen

Two atoms of Hydrogen combine with one atom of Oxygen to form water. This combination is?

hydrogen + oxygen = HO, hydroxide: hydrogen + oxygen + oxygen = H20, water

How is the formula for water different than the formula for hydrogen peroxide?

Water is H2O. Hydrogen peroxide is H2O2. Hydrogen peroxide has one more oxygen atom per molecule than water. The extra oxygen is what makes it a peroxide. "Hydrogen oxide" would be water. The extra oxygen also makes hydrogen peroxide much more reactive than water due to the unstable oxygen-oxygen bond.

How much electrons are there in one molecule of water?

10 (2 for hydrogen+8 for oxygen)

What two elements make up the chemical structure of water?

hydrogen and oxygen are the two elements which make up water

What are the elements of water?

Water (H2O) contains hydrogen and oxygen. There for its element sign id H2O. H2Os combination of atoms is 2 hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom.

Does water contain nitrogen carbon oxygen and hydrogen?

water is made of two hydrogen and one oxygen. (H2O)

Can water be formed by mixing hydrogen and oxygen?

If you mix hydrogen and oxygen then set the mixture on fire, you'll get water. The ratio is 2 parts hydrogen atoms to one part oxygen atoms--or really one H2 molecule plus one oxygen atom because that's how hydrogen comes from the welding store you bought it from. If there's too much hydrogen you'll have some left over; too much oxygen and you'll have some of it left over.
