Electricity is a non-renewable resource. Once you have used it, it won't come back. You have to generate more.

You can generate electricity in any number of ways. You can use solar cells, wind power, water falling through turbines, you can burn coal, oil, natural gas, etc. You can generate electricity by running on treadmills or using stationary bikes. It's all electricity, but some of the methods use renewable sources and others do not.

A: If electricity is produced by solar, wind, tides, waves, biomass, or geothermal energy then it is a renewable resource. Otherwise it is not.

A: Electricity is largely produced by power stations burning fossil fuels like coal, oil, and natural gas; Nuclear fission can also be used to produce electricity. All these are not renewable - there is a finite amount of fuel in the world and when it is used up, that's it.

Hydro, wind, tidal, geothermal, biomass, and solar power are all regarded as renewable forms of energy because they aren't finite. We use their energy, and it still keeps coming.

No, electricity is not a renewable source of energy .

Renewable source of energy is referring only to the type of what we call the primary source of energy which is either renewable like solar or exhaustible like coal or oil.

Electricity is a secondary source of energy which depends on the primary source of energy for its production. Electricity may be called also energy carrier. Energy carrier means the transportable form of energy produced from power plants.

Accordingly electricity, by definition, is not renewable source of energy but it is secondary source of energy or energy carrier.

And how will you generate that electricity? Direct from light? Chemical sources like a battery? Created from a generator driven by a mechanical source like steam, with the heat to make steam derived from nuclear power, or burning something like coal or fuel oil or something else, or perhaps pulled from geothermal sources? Solar heat to create the steam? Grabbing the mechanical energy of falling water or the ocean's tides to turn a generator? There are more. Electricity is electromagnetic energy. It must be generated from another energy source. Do some looking around (backtrack) and consider how the electrical energy, which is energy which has been converted into electricity from another energysource, is made.

Electricity itself is irrelevant it is the powers source used to generate the electricity that matters. If the electricity is generated in a coal, oil, or natural gas power station then the electrical energy produced is from an non renewable resource. If however the power is generated using wind, or water then the energy produces is form a renewable resource.

Sources of energy are termed renewable and non-renewable. Electricity can come from many sources including power plants, wind farms, hydroelectric plants and solar panels. Power plants that burn fossil fuels are using non-renewable fuel sources, but energy from solar panels use renewable energy. A power plant can use biofuels, which are renewable.

Water alone is not a renewable source of energy, but moving water can be used to spin turbines, which can generate electricity in the same way a battery hooked up to a motor will spin the motor, but in reverse. The spinning of the motor will generate an electromagnetic field which will generate a current in the copper wires within the motor, this current is then fed out of the motor and into a generator which usually contains a transistor which will convert the DC power of the motor into AC power, which can then be adjusted as needed and fed into the power grid for the city or local area.

What are the effects of electricity generation on the environment?

Electricity generation if done by renewable resources is good. If done by non renewable is bad.

Are wind mills renewable or non-renewable?

The turbines (mills) themselves are non-renewable but the wind the power source that is converted into useful work (usually electricity) is renewable.

Can renewable energy and non-renewable energy can be used at the same time?

Answer : YES Renewable power sources and non-renewable power souces are both used to generate electricity, which is then transfered through the 'power grid' (power lines) to different houses. Electricity generated from renewable sources is not different in any way to electricity generated by non-renewable sources. Therefore, they can both be used at the same t5ime

What non renewable resource is used to provide electricity?

Coal

Is electricity non renewable or renewable?

Sources of energy are termed renewable and non-renewable. Electricity can come from many sources including power plants, wind farms, hydroelectric plants and solar panels. Power plants that burn fossil fuels are using non-renewable fuel sources, but energy from solar panels use renewable energy. A power plant can use biofuels, which are renewable.

Is a light bulb renewable or nonrenewable?

The light bulb its self is non renewable, it is replaceable. The electricity that powers the light bulb can be renewable.

Is mechanical energy is a renewable energy?

Not in the literal sense of the words "Mechanical Energy". It depends on the source of the mechanical energy. If the source is renewable, like solar or wind generated electricity, then the mechanical energy is renewable. If the source is non-renewable, like electricity from burning oil, then it is non-renewable.

What is an example of an non- renewable resource?

An example of a non-renewable resource is coal, because when you burn it it is finished. A non-example of a non-renewable resource is solar power, because you can use it (to generate electricity) and it is still there to be used again.

How renewable and non-renewable enerygy sources produce electricity?

They produce electricity be burning coal and then the coal is used to heat, light and do lots of other things.

What is the uses of renewable energy?

It is used to generate electricity, without the carbon dioxide emissions of non-renewable energy.

Is hybrid electricity renewable or nonrenewable?

Hybrid electricity produced in a hybrid car like a Prius is generated from a small gasoline motor. When you use any electricity to run a motor you use it up. It is not renewable. Renewable means it comes back by itself, like sunshine or wind or waves on the beach. All these are renewable and can be used to generate electricity. But all electricity is non-renewable.
