No, I wouldn't say that. Most energy systems have some danger or risk attached. Nuclear can emit dangerous radioactivity, though this can be made very unlikely by good design and operation. Coal is risky to mine, and produces a lot of pollution, natural gas has less pollution but is liable to explode if in certain conditions, houses are sometimes blown apart by this. Oil has fire risks and again can be very polluting, witness the BP well in the Gulf. Wind generators have been known to shed blades. I should think that solar energy is safest, but unfortunately it is limited in capacity, is expensive, and does not work at night.

What is the difference between solar energy and nuclear energy?

Solar energy = Fusion Nuclear energy = Fission Fission aka Nuclear energy is the breaking apart of bonds in elements to release energy. Nuclear power plants use this concept in their nuclear reactors. Without properly controlling the energy via steam and control rods, a power plant can potentially explode releasing radiation that can last for years. The upsides to this power is zero emissions. Fusion, solar energy, is a process in which two elements fuse to form a new element which creates energy. EX. two hydrogen fuse to form helium. The sun's intense heat allows this fusion of elements to occur. Currently it is impossible to create fusion power plants due to the environment required but if possible, it would be the cleanest, safest, most efficient form of energy available.

Is nuclear energy potential energy or kinetic energy?

Nuclear energy is a form of potential energy.

What form of energy does nuclear fission absorb energy?

Nuclear fission releases energy in the form of heat, which can be converted into electricity.

What is the safest form of energy production but has the highest potential for catastrophic disaster?

Nuclear energy is considered one of the safest forms of energy production in terms of day-to-day operation due to its low carbon emissions and high energy output. However, it also has the highest potential for catastrophic disaster in the event of a major accident, such as a meltdown or radiation release.

What form of energy is nuclear energy?

Nuclear energy is a form unto itself. But please see the related question linked below.

Is a nuclear reaction a form of nuclear energy?

Yes.

Is nuclear a form of potential and nuclear energy?

Nuclear energy is a form of potential energy that is stored in the nucleus of an atom. When atoms are split in a process called nuclear fission, a large amount of energy is released, which can be harnessed to generate electricity in nuclear power plants.

Is gas a form of nuclear energy?

No, it has chemical energy

What energy can be found in a nuclear bomb?

Electrical energy, in the triggering and fuzing mechanisms. Chemical energy, in the form of conventional explosives used to trigger the chain reaction. Nuclear energy, in the form of fissionable or fusable nuclear materials.

Is atoms splitting a form of nuclear energy?

Yes, atoms splitting is a form of nuclear energy known as nuclear fission. In this process, the nucleus of an atom is split into two or more smaller nuclei, releasing a large amount of energy in the form of heat and radiation.
