yes, it is relevant to mass because Einstein was smart
When enough energy is gained, the object's kinetic or potential energy increases, causing it to speed up, move higher, or change state. When enough energy is lost, the object's kinetic or potential energy decreases, causing it to slow down, move lower, or change state. This exchange of energy can lead to changes in the object's physical properties or behavior.
Energy is neither lost nor gained when it is transferred, according to the law of conservation of energy. Energy can change forms or be transferred from one object to another, but the total amount of energy remains constant. Some energy may be dissipated as heat or sound during the transfer process, but the total energy before and after remains the same.
Energy isn't "used up" but instead is converted into different forms like heat (thermal) and motion (kinetic) but when talking about an object we say the object has lost or gained energy.
In an isolated system, according to the law of conservation of energy, energy lost is equal to energy gained. This means that the total energy of the system remains constant and is simply transferred between different forms.
Enthalpy measures the total energy of a system, including its internal energy and the energy required to maintain constant pressure. It is related to the energy of a system because changes in enthalpy reflect the amount of heat transferred during a process, indicating whether the system has gained or lost energy.

When the object is rolling it has kinetic energy or KE and when the object is at rest it has potential energy or U. In this case both are mechanical energies and mechanical energy is conserved within a system meaning it is only transferred not gained or lost.

give out energy

90 % is lost.
The Law of Conservation of Energy states that energy is neither created nor destroyed but remains constant in a given system. Therefore, wouldn't calorimetry make use of it because the energy gained/lost by the water would cancel out the energy lost/gained by the substance and result in no change overall? Some energy is changed to heat and lost. The main energy is still be converted to light beam.

You think to quanta.
it depends on conversion. wind to wind energy. Sun to solar Energy. and water to hydro have no loss only gained but on other hand electric to heat energy like also some heat will be lost. in nuclear energy some energy also lost during conversion.
