The angle of reflection is equal to the angle of incidence.

In the "diagram" below the line pointing up is perpendicular to the horizontal line. The horizontal line is something like a mirror.

Now if a light wave was to hit the mirror where the two lines cross then the angle of incidence is the angle between the light wave and the perpendicular line.

The angle of reflection will be the same angle only in the opposite rotation to the perpendicular
