I have been looking for this information myself. It depends on the size and type of lute. Medieval and early renaissance lutes with 5-7 courses weigh about 1.5 pounds(580-695 grams) and larger baroque lutes with 11-14 courses can weigh about 3.6 pounds(1670 grams).
