Wind is not always constant or steady. Sometimes it dies down, and then no electricity is generated. In some places tornadoes or hurricanes may damage the fans. Also, the props kill bats and birds.
The disadvantages are pretty minor considering the advantages.
We currently do not have technology to make wind workable. Our systems are based on 28 MPH constant wind, a virtual impossible event. At 31 MPH gusts, systems produce zero power. Fossil fuel plants run at 100% of rated power to supplement these systems. This CO2 emission is just ignored as the plant is not actively producing power.
There is also the environmental impact of these towers. Millions of birds and bats are killed each year by the towers. Overall affect is negative to the planet. They produce almost zero power and less then they took for construction. They are negatives to the overall environment and should be banned.
Some disadvantages of using wind as a source for generating electricity include intermittency - the wind doesn't always blow consistently, which can lead to fluctuations in power generation; visual and noise impacts in areas where wind turbines are installed; and the need for large land areas to host wind farms, which can impact the environment and local ecosystems.
The advantage is that wind is renewable- it does not get used up. Disadvantages- the wind does not always blow, it does not blow at a constant speed, and it does not always blow where electricity is needed. It can be costly to generate and store electricity from wind energy.
Wind turbines generate electricity by converting the kinetic energy from the wind into mechanical energy using the rotor blades, which then turns a generator to produce electricity.
Electricity is generated using wind by harnessing the energy from wind to spin the blades of a turbine connected to a generator. As the blades turn, the generator converts the kinetic energy of the wind into electrical energy. This electricity is then transmitted through power lines for use.
Windmills produce electricity by harnessing the kinetic energy of the wind. The wind causes the blades of the windmill to rotate, which in turn drives a generator to produce electricity.
Lack of wind is the main disadvantage.
