Well, friction can be good, and nuisance in many ways. Like, it can be good when it produces heat when you need it, or if you rub your hands together to keep warm in the winter. It can be real annoying if it does things you don't want it to do. Like, creating heat when you need air conditioning, or pulling stuff the opposite way, when you pull it where ever.

∙ 13y agoIn car brakes and clutches, for one thing. Also, if you tried to pick somethig up, something that you couldn't actually get your fingers around, it would slip out. Also a nut would not stay tight on a bolt. Also, when two objects are bolted together, a lot of the force resisting them being slid apart is not only the strength of the bolt but also the friction beteen the two parts caused by them being jammed together. Also, your socks would probably not stay up.
