13 stripes on the American flag

Does your mind invert colors?

(Same person who asked question) I have asked this question because of the American Flag optical illusion. The flag is a stange color and I accidently inverted the colors of the strange flag. The flag then looked exactly like the original. So I experiment. I inverted the color of the Chinese Flag and brought in my brother. I told him to do exactly what the optical illusion told me to do for the American Flag illusion. After about thirty seconds of looking at the flag he looked at a blank white paper. I asked him what colors he saw and of course he guessed correctly. Now he never saw the colors of the flag so how did he guess it correctly. I tried it again, but this time with a cartoon character. He also guessed it correctly. How is this so, if you invert a color isn't it still a color?
