The two factors that affect the force of gravity between two objects are mass and distance. The force of gravity is directly proportional to the product of the masses of the two objects, and inversely proportional to the square of the distance separating the two objects.

The two factors are mass and distance between them. Objects are gravitationally forced together by their mass'. The gravitational force also depends on how distant the objects are from each other. The gravitational force is also inversely proportional to the square of distance between them (the inverse-square law).

The mass of each object will affect the force of gravity between the two objects, and the distance between the objects will affect the force of gravity between the two objects. The more mass that is involved, the greater will be the gravimetric force, and the smaller the distance between the objects, the greater will be the force. For smaller mass and greater distances of separation, there will be less gravity.

There are actually 3 factors. Mass of the first object, mass of the second object and the distance between them. F = (G*m1*m2)/r^2, where

F is the magnitude of the gravitational force

G is gravitational constant

m1, m2 are masses

r is distance between their centre of masses

Mass and distance both affect gravity.

How do mass and distance affect the gravitational attraction between objects?

The force of gravity acts between all objects. If massincreases, the force of gravity increases. If distanceincreases, the force of gravity decreases.
