In a case where the opposite sex may be attracted to you they may show signs of physical,or verbal contact. They will usually tell you but sometimes they may try to touch your hands,face,or glutial region. In more mature contact they might touch your private areas. A person interested in you will usually begin a courtship (dating), which in modern times usually involved sharing meals (taking you to dinner or getting lunch between classes), spending time (getting coffee, ice cream, or going to a park as examples) or attending entertaining events (movies, concerts etc.) together. This usually begins with interesting, playful, or complimentary (flirting) conversation. As with many things, it takes experience to know the concept but after some time, you'll know it when you see it.
