Any force acting in the direction opposite to that of the motion. It could be a braking force, or drag (resistance from the fluid in which the body is moving), or friction (resistance from the body along which it is moving)

When a net force is applied to an object at rest, it accelerates, and the reverse process has the same explanation. There are various ways to say this.

  1. A moving object will slow and stop due to any force that acts in a direction opposite to the direction of motion.
  2. Though it does not sound like the same answer, one can say that any process that removes the kinetic energy of a moving object will cause the object to slow and stop. That is the usual explanation given to why friction causes things slow down and stop. Friction is one example of a more general phenomena. Friction does create a force that opposes motion, though it may take some care to identify in some instances. Both answers are equivalent.

for an object to travel at a constant speed, there is a need for equal force that needs to act in favour of the object. But there are quiet a few factors that can stop an object from for a constant speed, that are friction, drag (including air resistance or moving fluid) which acts against the moving to slow it down.

That happens when a force is applied to the object, in a direction opposite to its movement, until the movement stops. Usually this is caused by frictional forces.

A force can make moving objects?

A force will cause a moving object to continue moving. It will also cause the object to move farther and faster until friction slows it down.

What are the three effects of force in full?

1:Force can change the shape of an object2:Force can cause an object that is not moving to start moving 3: Force can cause an object to turn around or spin

Force causing an object to start moving?

what starts to move an object is force because it's pushing on the object and what stop's the obect from moveing is force too because if the force is going the oppisit way its going to stop the object.

the normal force or any balanced force

An outside force.

If the net force on an object is zero then the object is?

Not accelerating. It could be stationary or moving at a constant speed.

Does a speeding missile posses a force?

A speeding missile, or any moving object, has momentum. Force was used to cause it to move in the first place. If this object strikes another object, it will then exert a force on the object that it strikes.
