There is no such thing as zero friction, when an object is moving it will always loose heat/energy to the objects around it. Even if it is a solid object or air, E is always being transfered. If there was someting that had no friction it would continuously be moving.

What pattern do you notice about the values for the coefficients of friction?

The coefficient of friction typically ranges from 0 to 1, with 0 indicating no friction and 1 indicating high friction. The coefficient of friction depends on various factors such as the surfaces in contact, surface roughness, and whether the surfaces are in motion or at rest. In general, smoother surfaces have lower coefficients of friction compared to rougher surfaces.

What type of friction keeps your shoes from slipping on the floor?

Static friction keeps your shoes from slipping on the floor. This type of friction occurs when two objects are not moving relative to each other. Static friction creates a grip between the floor and the shoes, preventing slipping.

What happens when friction is reduced to 0?

When friction is reduced to 0, objects will move with minimal resistance. This can make it difficult to control the speed and direction of objects, leading to instability and potential safety hazards. In some cases, objects may slide or slip uncontrollably.

What are the 2kinds of friction?

The two types of friction are static friction and kinetic friction. Static friction occurs when two surfaces are at rest relative to each other, while kinetic friction occurs when two surfaces are in motion relative to each other.

Name the three types of friction?

Three types of friction are : 1. Kinetic friction :Friction that arises between surfaces in relative motion. 2. Static friction :Friction that acts between surfaces at rest with respect to each other 3. Rolling friction : Friction that occurs when an object rolls over a surface. Static, sliding, rolling.

Is there is friction if the object is moving in vacuum with 0 gravitational force?

No, there is not.

When a car is going down a hill covered in ice what friction would that be?

unless you have chains or studs it would be 0 friction

How does friction affect forward motion?

Friction is when two objects touch each other, either smooth or rough friction causes the object to slow down. Also an unbalanced force is when the net force isn't 0 which causes a object to move and cause friction other than a balanced force is when the net force is 0.

How much friction is produced by brakes to stop a vehicle running at 80kmhr?

friction acting btw the road surface and wheel depends upon the braking retardation of the vehicle. every surface has its own friction coefficient which represents the maximum value , however friction can act in range from 0 to that max value , and this value depends upon the braking retardation.
