∙ 11y agoIf the object is placed at height, it has potential energy and when this object falls down, this potential energy is converted to kinetic (kinesis means movement) energy. If we have to lift object at height , we have to spend energy, witch is released during fall of the object. Example is when water comes down in hydroelectric power station potential energy is converted into kinetic energy. Witch is used to rotate wheel, creating electricity.

∙ 11y agoPotential energy is energy that is stored and has the potential to do work, whereas kinetic energy is energy in motion. An example of potential energy is a book sitting on a shelf, as it has the potential to fall and do work. An example of kinetic energy is a moving car, as it is in motion and possesses energy.

Potential energy is energy stored in an object based on its position or configuration, while kinetic energy is energy possessed by an object in motion. The main similarity between potential and kinetic energy is that they are both forms of mechanical energy.
Potential energy is stored energy that an object possesses due to its position or condition, while kinetic energy is the energy of motion an object possesses while in motion. In other words, potential energy is energy that is waiting to be used, while kinetic energy is energy being used.
Potential energy is the energy stored in an object due to its position or condition, such as gravitational potential energy or elastic potential energy. Kinetic energy, on the other hand, is the energy an object possesses due to its motion. Another difference is that potential energy is dependent on the object's position or state, while kinetic energy is dependent on the object's velocity.
Possible reasons for a difference between the work done and kinetic energy could be non-conservative forces acting on the object, such as friction or air resistance, which can dissipate some of the work as heat. The work-energy principle may not hold true if energy is being transferred in forms other than kinetic energy, such as potential energy or thermal energy. Additionally, errors in measurements or calculations could also contribute to the difference.
Normally, in most contexts, the opposite of "kinetic" (moving) could be "static" (not moving). When talking about 'energy' the opposite of "kinetic" can be "potential", i.e., kinetic energy vs potential energy. An object in ballistic motion (i.e., moving only under the influence of a simple gravitational field) may exchange its energy between kinetic and potential forms, perhaps even repeatedly, but the sum of the two will remain constant. Examples (neglecting friction) include a pendulum, a roller coaster and a satellite in an elliptical orbit.

whats the difference between kinetic energy and potential energy
Potential to kinetic kinetic to potential Thermal to solar
Potential energy is energy stored in an object based on its position or configuration, while kinetic energy is energy possessed by an object in motion. The main similarity between potential and kinetic energy is that they are both forms of mechanical energy.
Potential energy is stored energy that an object possesses based on its position or condition, such as gravitational potential energy when an object is raised above the ground. Kinetic energy is the energy of motion an object possesses due to its speed and mass. Potential energy can be converted into kinetic energy when the object is in motion.
what is difference between kinetic and potiental
kinetic is in motion and potential energy means it is still
Difference is that kinetic energy is the energy of motion and potential is stored energy.
Potential energy is stored energy that an object possesses due to its position or condition, while kinetic energy is the energy of motion an object possesses while in motion. In other words, potential energy is energy that is waiting to be used, while kinetic energy is energy being used.
potential energy- is derived chemically from something kinetic energy-is derived from something by the motion the object has thermal energy-is derived by heat or cold
Potential energy is the energy an object possesses due to its position or state (e.g. gravitational potential energy). Kinetic energy is the energy an object possesses due to its motion. Potential energy can be transformed into kinetic energy and vice versa.
