If the object is placed at height, it has potential energy and when this object falls down, this potential energy is converted to kinetic (kinesis means movement) energy. If we have to lift object at height , we have to spend energy, witch is released during fall of the object. Example is when water comes down in hydroelectric power station potential energy is converted into kinetic energy. Witch is used to rotate wheel, creating electricity.

What is the difference bewteen potential and kinetic energy?

The difference between potential and kinetic energy is that potential is energy that is waiting to be utilized, such as a battery, a car on a hill, or food. Kinetic energy is potential energy that has been put to use, so the electricity from a battery, a car rolling down a hill, and using food energy to run are all examples of kinetic energy.

What is the difference between kinetic and potential enrgy?

Kinetic energy is the motion of an object (real). Potential energy is a measure of the kinetic energy an object WOULD have if it were to be released and allowed to fall.

What is the same and the difference between potential and kinetic energy?

Potential is stored energy and Kinetic is just simple movement like windmills are powerd with Kinetic energy. They are both energy.

What are more examples of energy transformation?

Potential to kinetic kinetic to potential Thermal to solar

Mechanical energy is the difference between the kinetic and potential energies of an object?

true

What descends mean?

whats the difference between kinetic energy and potential energy

Difference between potential and kenetic energy?

Potential energy is when the particles are at rest and kinetic energy is when the particles are in motion.

What is the main difference between potential and kinetic?

The main difference between potential and kinetic energy is that potential is energy that has the opportunity to become kinetic. Kinetic energy is the energy of motion.examples of potential energy- a spring being squeezed; When you are at the top of the diving board getting ready to dive; winding up before you throw a pitch (in softball); etc.examples of kinetic energy- a person running; a car speeding; falling down the stairs; etc.

What is the difference between potential and kinetic energy in a ven diagram?

Potential energy is energy a body has due to its position. Kinetic energy is energy a body has due to its motion.

What are possible reasons for any difference between the work done and kinetic energy?

kinetic is not a potential energy because kinetic energy is made of movement but potential energies are stored but can be used

Compare potential and kinetic energy?

The difference between potential and kinetic energy all comes down to a very simple property of the object. If an object is moving, then it has kinetic energy, or kinetic energy is the energy of movement. Potential energy is energy that is stored in an object and can be released under the right conditions.
