Its called richochet
The wave interaction that occurs when ripples in a bathtub hit the wall of the tub is called reflection. The waves bounce off the wall and can interfere constructively or destructively depending on the phase relationship between the incident and reflected waves.
Sound waves can be reflected to form an echo when they hit a hard surface, such as a wall or a cliff, and bounce back towards the source of the sound. This reflection causes a delay in the sound reaching our ears, creating the sensation of an echo.
When sound waves hit a surface, they either get absorbed, transmitted, or reflected. Sound is reflected when it hits a hard surface that doesn't absorb much sound energy, causing the waves to bounce back in a new direction. This reflection of sound waves allows us to hear echoes and can affect the acoustics of a room.
I watched the ball bounce. (active sentence) The bounce of a small ball was greater than the bounce of a large ball. (passive sentence)
Part of the energy carried by the sound bounces back from the wall, and is perceived as an echo if you're far enough from the wall. The rest of the energy enters the wall. Part of that is absorbed by the material of the wall, and the rest emerges from the other side, where it may be noticeable to people on that side of the wall, especially in a cheap motel.
Shoot at a wall when you are close to it and it is at your side. if shooting at the right angle your bullets will keep going but bounce of the wall.

when light hits an object some light is absorbed and some is reflected. when it hits a mirror, almost all of that light is reflected. when it hits a white wall a lot of the light is reflected but not enough to form an image our i can detect. a wall is also not smooth so the light is reflected at billions of different angles
Mail: It can bounce if the id of the recipient is wrong, and can be stopped by a firewall.
