The science of physics in the new millennium of the 21st century is not fundamentally different than it was 13 years ago in the 20th century, although there have been some interesting developments such as the detection of the Higgs boson. Research is usually incremental in nature; there are few revolutionary discoveries, but there are lots of discoveries which add to our understanding of the universe in which we live.

When you use the physics concepts in new technologyis it called?

When physics concepts are utilized in the development of new technology, it is often referred to as applied physics or engineering physics. This involves integrating principles of physics into the design and function of innovative devices or systems to achieve specific technological goals.

Why physics is the basis of technology?

Physics provides the fundamental principles that govern the behavior of matter and energy in the physical world. Technology relies on these principles to design and develop new devices, tools, and systems that improve our quality of life. Understanding physics can help engineers and scientists innovate and create new technologies to address various challenges and advance society.

What is difference between applied-physics and physics?

I am currently doing Applied physics in College. In my particular college, applied physics is coursework based, there are no exams whereas for Physics, there are.Applied physics, at my college, involves a lot of practical work and stems into fields of Biology and Chemistry alongside Physics, focusing on all three for a first year during a National Diploma course, and only physics during the second year.Generally, Applied Physics refers to the use of physics; how it is used in various fields eg engineering. Whereas, Physics or sometimes called Pure Physics can be more theoretical, new research, new areas to explore. The work being done at CERN in Europe, the large hadron collider where atomic particles are being collided would be Physics. The two fields will largely overlap and the discoveries made in Physics will leak into Applied Physics.

What is relation between physics and technology?

Physics provides the fundamental principles that are used to develop technology. The understanding of physical phenomena allows engineers and scientists to design new technologies or improve existing ones. Technology, in turn, often drives advancements in physics by creating new tools and methods for studying the natural world.

Who won The Nobel Prize in Physics in 1993?

The Nobel Prize in Physics in 1993 was awarded to Russell A. Hulse and Joseph H. Taylor Jr. for their discovery of a new type of pulsar, a discovery that opened up new possibilities for the study of gravitation.
