If you are talking about the project where you have to drop an egg out of some structure and they have to be safe. If you are then I have experience!
This is a very simple and easy to make idea:
1) Take a shoebox, the bigger the better (Not too flat)
2) Take alot of newspaper and shred it to strips
3) Take some cotton wool or other soft material
4) THROW THEM ALL INTO THE SHOEBOX!
5) Secure the egg in the middle of the shoebox, ensure that there is plenty of shredded newspaper in it to cover it.
The soft material would absorb the impact (which should be minimal to what is inside the box due to the structure of the box.
Hope I Helped
To use gravity in an egg drop experiment, simply drop the egg from a certain height and observe how gravity affects its descent. You can vary the height from which you drop the egg to see how it impacts the egg's landing. Consider using different materials or design structures to protect the egg from the force of gravity upon impact.
To win the egg drop competition, you can use materials such as straws, cotton balls, bubble wrap, or small cushions to create a protective casing around the egg to absorb the impact. It's important to design a structure that reduces the force of impact when the egg is dropped from a height. Make sure to test your design by dropping it from various heights to see if it can withstand the impact and protect the egg.
The egg drop experiment is a popular science project where participants design a container that will protect a raw egg from breaking when dropped from a height. It teaches concepts about gravity, inertia, and impact forces. Participants use materials like straws, cotton balls, and bubble wrap to cushion the egg during the drop.
Data for the egg drop experiment typically includes the height from which the egg is dropped, the type of material used for protection, and whether the egg survived the fall. Analysis involves examining the relationship between the height of the drop and egg survival rates to determine the most effective protective design for keeping the egg intact during the fall.
To protect an egg in an egg drop, you can cushion it with materials such as cotton balls, bubble wrap, or foam. Create a protective layer around the egg and ensure it is securely enclosed within a sturdy container. Test your design by dropping it from various heights to see if the egg remains intact.
It depends on how far the egg has to drop. In High School we had to do 1 story, about 10 feet drop with only 1 sheet of 8x10 paper. The most successful projects involved a combination of an airfoil design parachute with some crumbled up paper under the egg to act as a cushion.
The best idea is not to drop them; if you drop them, they might break.

not empty but also not full tub of peanut butter
While every design under the sun has been tried, some of the most successful utilize NERF material to cradle the egg in one fashion or another. This is similar to the egg drop challenge. Look into memory foam mattress material.
don't drop it

you use an plastic container because it is best to use when doing an egg drop experiment

Use a pringles tube packed lightly with tissue paper, wrap the egg in tissue until it fits lightly in the tube, fit some cardboard fins at the top of the tube to act as a flight, then test.
