Kelvin is a unit of temperature in the International System of Units (SI), based on the absolute zero point, where 0K is absolute zero. Rankine is a unit of temperature in the Imperial system, also based on absolute zero, where 0°R is absolute zero. The main difference is the scale used for measurement (Celsius for Kelvin and Fahrenheit for Rankine).
The different temperature between these temperatures is 4 degrees, as 15 degrees Celsius is equivalent to 59 degrees Fahrenheit, 475 degrees Kelvin, and 519 degrees Rankine.
Kelvin were 0 = absolute zero and uses Celsius as unit of measure Celsius Fahrenheit Those are the most common. There are a few more the most common is Rankine which is similar to Kelvin except it uses Fahrenheit as unit of measure
Kelvin chose to keep the temperature difference for one Kelvin the same as one degree Celsius to facilitate easy conversion between the two temperature scales. This decision allows for a direct relationship between the scales, where one Kelvin is equal to one degree Celsius in terms of temperature difference.
Both Kelvin and Rankine are absolute temperature scales (The bottom of the scale is absolute 0 meaning there is no lower temperature). Rankine is used more by engineers and Kelvin by scientists
Rankine
T(oR) = 1.8 * T(K) just divide Rankine temperature by 1.8 to get temperature in Kelvin
Rankine. Rankine is a temperature scale that is used alongside Fahrenheit, where 0 Rankine is absolute zero and each degree Rankine is equal to a degree Fahrenheit.
The different temperature between these temperatures is 4 degrees, as 15 degrees Celsius is equivalent to 59 degrees Fahrenheit, 475 degrees Kelvin, and 519 degrees Rankine.
ºK = (ºR - 491.67) / 1.8 + 273.15
Kelvin and Rankine
Fahrenheit,Celsius, Kelvin don't forget Rankine.
multiply by 9/5 (1.8)
In Celsius: 0.5556 In Kelvin: 273.71 In Rankine: 492.67
It is degree Celsius, or degree Fahrenheit, or degree Kelvin, or Rankine
T(oR) = 1.8*T(K)
Celsius(C) , Fahrenheit(F) , Kelvin(K), or Rankine
the four termometric scales are: -Celsius -Fahrenheit -Kelvin -Rankine
