The difference is a matter of thickness. For example steel PLATE is a large plate of thickness greater than 3/16 inch ( about 5 mm). Steel SHEET is plate that it LESS than 3/16 inch thick. And steel STRIP is SHEET cut into short widths.

These cutoff thicknesses may very between materials depending on manufacturing processes.

Hope this helps!

What is the difference between coil and strip?

Coil refers to a continuous length of material wound in a spiral shape, like a spring. Strip is a flat and thin piece of material with a consistent width and thickness. Essentially, coil is a rolled or wound form of material, while strip is a flat sheet cut to a specific width.

What is a bimetallic strip and What is it used for?

A bimetallic strip is a strip made of two different metals that have different coefficients of thermal expansion. When heated or cooled, the strip bends due to the difference in expansion rates between the two metals. This principle is used in devices such as thermostats to regulate temperature.

What is a wave plate and how does it affect the polarization of light?

A wave plate is an optical device that changes the polarization of light. It does this by altering the phase difference between the two perpendicular components of light waves. This change in phase causes the light to be polarized in a specific direction when it passes through the wave plate.

What is the potential difference across each capacitor when the plate separation is doubled?

When the plate separation of a capacitor is doubled, the potential difference across each capacitor remains the same.

Why is the interference effect due to glass plate and lens ignored in newtons rings?

The interference effect due to the glass plate and lens is ignored in Newton's rings because the refractive index of the air gap between the lens and glass plate is very close to that of the glass, causing minimal phase difference. This results in the interference pattern being primarily influenced by the air film between the lens and glass plate.

What is the difference between a Kansas City strip and a New York strip steak?

The main difference between a Kansas City strip and a New York strip steak is the location from which they are cut on the cow. The Kansas City strip is cut from the short loin, while the New York strip is cut from the top loin. This results in slight variations in tenderness and flavor between the two cuts.

What is the difference between a New York strip and a Kansas City strip steak?

The main difference between a New York strip and a Kansas City strip steak is the cut of meat. A New York strip steak comes from the short loin of the cow, while a Kansas City strip steak is cut from the sirloin. This results in a difference in tenderness and flavor profile, with the New York strip being more tender and the Kansas City strip having a slightly firmer texture.
