DC Amperes times Volts=Watts. Watts is heat. AC current is a little trickier because of the sine wave and several other problems, but what you want to measure is RMS volts and amps at 100% power factor.

An electrically operated water heater uses electrical energy to generate heat.

The heat energy is then transferred to the bottom of the water by conduction,

and spreads throughout the tank by convection.

Heat is the transfer of energy from a warmer body to a cooler body.

When an electric current flows, it does work on the conductor, raising the conductor's internal energy (i.e. causing its atoms to vibrate). An increase in internal energy is always accompanied by an increase in temperature, causing heat transfer from the conductor into the surroundings.

The simplest electronic component is probably the resistor.

A resistor has no purpose other than to "resist" the flow of electricity. It performs no function other than turning electrical energy into heat energy. (Usually the purpose is not to generate heat, but to control voltage or current and the generation of heat is secondary.)

If a current I flows through a resistor R, then the rate power, P, is

P=I2R.

Similarly, if a voltage drop of V occurs across a resistor, the Power is,

P=V2/R.

These are the same as saying that power associated with a resistor is, P=VI.

The power is the rate at which heat is generated and therefore the rate at which electrical energy is converted to heat energy.

There are a number of different ways to do this. Most involve converting the heat energy into mechanical energy and then transferring that mechanical energy into an electrical generator.

Is that light energy or heat energy of solar energy is converted into the electric energy?

A photocell converts light energy (radiant electromagnetic energy to be precise) into electrical energy. A thermocouple can convert heat into electrical energy. The radiant em conversion yields much more energy than a heat conversion.
