alpha particle is the heaviest(compared to gama and beta particle).....it has got haish positive charge and moves with a speed lower compared to beta and gama particle and therefore it ionizies the particles around it as it moves in its path

Is alpha ionising or non ionising?

Alpha particles are ionizing radiation because they have a positive charge and can remove electrons from atoms they interact with, causing ionization. This can damage living tissues if exposure is significant.

Which type of nuclear radiation is the least ionising?

Alpha radiation is the least ionizing type of nuclear radiation. It consists of positively charged alpha particles, which have low penetrating power and are easily stopped by a sheet of paper or clothing.

What are beta and alpha rays?

Alpha: Highly ionising particles that can not penetrate the skin, smoke or most substances. It's only dangerous when inhaled or ingested. Beta: Is slightly less ionising but can penetrate air, layers of skin and paper. It's only slightly more dangerous than Alpha.

What is a good stopper of ionizing radiation?

If by ionising radiation you mean alpha radiation (the most ionising out of alpha, beta and gamma radiation) then about a millimetre of paper would stop it. alpha radiation ionises the molecules of anything it reaches, but can pass through very few things due to its immense ionising power. This includes human tissue, but in all honesty, a large dose of alpha radiation wouldn't do human tissue alot of good. In short, almost any material can stop ionising radiation.

Is cathode rays have maximum ionising power than alpha beta gamma rays?

No, alpha particles have the highest ionizing power due to their larger size and positive charge. Cathode rays have less ionizing power compared to alpha particles, but they still have the ability to ionize atoms and molecules when they interact with them.

What type of radiation has the least ability to penetrate matter?

Alpha radiation has the least ability to penetrate matter. It consists of particles that are relatively large and heavy, which makes them easier to block. They can be stopped by a piece of paper or human skin.

What is the danger of nuclear radiation?

Ionising radiation from Alpha, Beta and Gamma emissions (from radioactive materials) are harmful to most organs of the body.

Does alpha penetrates materials?

if you are talking about radiation then yes but only few thin materialsalpha radiation is the weakest pentrating the strongest ionising

Which form of radiation is most ionising?

Alpha radiation is the most ionizing form of radiation because it consists of alpha particles, which are large and heavy and interact strongly with matter, causing a high degree of ionization.

Is gamma ionising or non ionising?

no

What is the ionizing power of alpha particle?

Alpha particles have high ionizing power due to their large mass and double positive charge. They interact strongly with atoms, causing significant ionization as they pass through a material, making them dangerous to living organisms if exposed internally.

What are some examples of non ionising radiation?

mobile/cell phones microwaves radiation power lines
