The main argument of the Gay Science is based on pre-determination of orientation before birth. Science has discovered that Gay Men and Women are wired differently than the rest of heterosexual society! We DO have the same genes, but how we are assembled is quite different! It has been found that Gay men in particular, (mainly because so many Gay men were willing to be tested and studied) do not react to female pheromones and body chemistry the same way heterosexual men do, in fact for Gay men, female pheromones are largely igored altogether. However, when Male pheromones are contacted, the Gay Males will have the same desire for other men as heterosexual men do for women! And as heterosexual women do for men! This clearly establishes that homosexuality is not a life style choice or a learned behavior and furthermore, that Gay conversion therapy will not work! Being Gay is the same as being right or left handed and this cannot be undone by medicine or psychological therapy. In fact psychological therapy has been shown to do incredible damage to the person who is exposed to it. This is one reason the Christian right in particular who is fighting for their own special rights as the only citizens that benefits like marriage should apply to, are fighting the science because once it is proven, then being Gay is not a lifestyle choice and it totally undermines the entire argument from many churches that being Gay is a sin against God!
