Well to answer this question would first require a brief explanation of atoms. Atoms consist of 3 particles: protons, neutrons, and electrons. Protons have a positive charge. Electrons have a negative charge. Neutrons have no charge. A basic atom will have the same number of protons, neutrons, and electrons.
Certain atoms have tendencies to appear in nature as what are known as ions. An ion is an atom that either has extra electrons or lacks electrons. When an atom lacks electrons, it gains a positive charge. When an atom has extra electrons, it gains a negative charge.
The attraction between objects comes from these positive and negative ions. The positive ions have lost electrons and, therefore, are looking for more electrons. Since the negative ions have a surplus of electrons, they are looking to give away electrons. This is what causes them to seek each other out.
This is called "electrostatic induction".
induction
The movement of electric charge is known as an electric current, the intensity of which is usually measured in amperes

To ground an object means to connect it through a conductor to the ground, or Earth. Grounding is a way to prevent an electric charge from building on an object, or to get rid of an electric charge.
Both conduction and induction involve a movement of electrons. Conduction is the transfer of electrons from a charged object to another object by direct contact. Induction does not involve direct contact. Instead, induction is the movement of electrons from one part of an object to another as a result of the electric field of the second object.

electrostatics..
That depends entirely on sign of the charge. If the object gains a positive charge, then that means the object as lost electrons, since electrons are negatively charge. If the charge is negative, then the object has gained electrons. It is also possible that the charge was created by a movement in protons, which are positively charged, in which case the object may not have lost or gained electrons.

electric charge
Electrons would flow from the ground, into the positively charged object.
