Gravity is not a pulling force in the sense that a rope pulls a ball. In the simplest example the earth can be said to be attracted to the sun. Objects equidistant from the sun, including the earth, all fall towards the sun at the same acceleration. So their masses have nothing to do with their rate of acceleration.If one wants to say that it takes a greater force[in the sense of pull] to move the earth then that same greater force would be acting on the bodies of smaller size in proximity to the earth and should pull them faster. But if the particles of the different bodies all respond equally to the environment[whatever that might consist of] of the sun then they will move towards the sun at an equal rate. All the particles of matter of the different bodies react the same way regardless of their mass.
