Best Answer

Energy = force x distance

Energy= power x timeEnergy can be measured in several different units. The SI unit is the Joule, and 1 joule/sec is 1 watt. Thermal energy can be measured in calories or BTU. There is an equivalence, 1 calorie = 4.2 Joules. In the ft-lb system, energy can be measured in units of ft.lbforce (ftlbf), and 1 ftlbf = 1.356 Joules. In electrical systems we use kilowatt-hours.

The symbol for Kinetic energy is: EK: Kinetic Energy.

The equation to find Kinetic energy is: EK: 1/2*mv2 which is 0.5 times mass times

velocity squared.

And the Symbol for gravitational potential energy is: EP: M*G*H: which is mass times gravity times height.

Hope this helps.
