The first telegraph was invented in 1835 by a man who goes by Samuel Morris. He invented it in the Univsersity of New York, in New York.

The reason why it was invented is because if you think of our daily life, how much do we text? How much to we call each other? Writing and sending letters took days to weeks. The telegraph was made for much faster communication, then it advanced into a telephone, and so on, but overall, it was invented for faster communication.
