The solar system formed from a massive cloud of gas and dust, which was slowly rotating. As the cloud collapsed under its own gravitational pull, the cloud started to spin faster, just as an ice skater pulling his arms in will spin faster. Because all of the material that accreted to form the planet was rotating, the planet was rotating as well.

The kinetic energy of a moving object comes from the force that set it in motion.

For example: If there is a bicycle going down the hill, then the kinetic energy came from the leg-muscles that got it moving, and from the force of gravity attracting it toward the center of the earth.

(The leg-muscle energy came from the chemical energy stored in the glucose in the muscles. The glucose came from the carbohydrate in plants eaten by the owner of the legs. The plants absorbed the energy from the electromagnetic radiation that shined on them from the sun, and stored it in their carbohydrates.)

Gravity. The Earth's energy has two parts the potential energy Ep=- mGM/R=-mu/R and its kinetic energy Ek=mcv., for a total quaternion energy E=Ep + Ek= -mu/R + mcv. The velocity v, is the result of the gravitational field of the Sun, v=sqrt(GM/R)= 30km/s roughly. The potential energy is roughly 2/3E-10x6E24x2E30/150E9=5.33E33 Joules. The kinetic energy is roughly 6E24x3E8x30E3=54E36 Joules. The kinetic energy is much larger than the potential energy. The kinetic energy was left out of Newton's and Einstein's Theory of Gravity. This kinetic energy is the source of the so-called "Dark Energy". The kinetic energy creates centrifugal force and is the source of the redshift in physics, z=cos(v)=v/c. Energy consists of a real part and a vector part and is a quaternion variable. Quaternions are true "4 D" variables of physics. Gravitational Energy is a quaternion 4 D energy.

Where does the energy to move the seas come from?

For tidal motion of the sea, main source of energy in such motion come from kinetic energy of the moon. The tidal motion play roles in earth rotational speed deceleration. However, since the earth and moon is massive, the energy loss from process of transformation is insignificant. Earth rotation speed is reduced by 2 hour over 620 Million years (It was 22 hr a day 620 Million years ago). It is hard enough for human species to survive the next millennium.

Thermal energy is produced when firefighter slides down a pole where does it come from?

The potential energy (due to the fighter's position in the Earth's gravity field). This is converted into kinetic energy as the fighter begins the slide and this kinetic energy is turned into heat energy by friction as the fighter slides.

Where does the kinetic energy come from in the turbine?

it comes from steam

Is kinetic energy a molecule?

The type of kinetic energy that is in the motion of a molecule is incredible Once it rises up, it comes down like a rocket falling towards earth except lighter. That's when it goes up. Once everything goes up, it must all come back down

What are the two basic types of energy?

There are two main types of energy which is kinetic and potential energy.. Kinetic energy is an energy associated with motion.. while the potential energy is an energy stored with the position of an object, or its chemical composition.

What happens to potential energy when charges move?

Then kinetic energy come and takes its place.

Were does the kinetic energy of moving electrons come from?

it comes directly from electric potential energy

Where does the energy to form the transition state come from?

The energy comes from the kinetic energy between colliding particles.

Where does radiant energy transmitted to earth come from?

where does the radient energy transmitted to earth come from

What source does kinetic energy come from?

Motion. The motion can be energized by virtually any source of energy.

What do it mean when you see a shooting star with you kid?

It means that a particle of dust entered Earth's atmosphere. Those come at high speeds; their kinetic energy (energy due to movement) is converted into heat and light.

Where does the energy from solar wind hydroelectric sources originally come from?

As you will know energy can not be created. Only transferred from one thing from another. Solar energy captures energy from the sun. Wind energy gets it from the kinetic energy making it move. And hydro electric also gets from kinetic energy. But kinetic energy from the movement of the waves.
