Where did the word gravity come from?

Basically i was in Wales and my mum said why don't you sit down and i said i playing with my cat she goes alright. then zainub (the short gay) came to my house and asked me the same question i got upset and ran to my bed crying i was upset cuz why were they asking me all these questions. then i asked myself that question and thought what do you call it when u don't float and then i tried to rhyme it and said when you don't float its called unfloatation and then my cat came and started to miaow she p***** me right off she did.however the answer is i don't fu***** know i ain't no einsten.

Gravity comes from the Latin term gravitas meaning heavy. newton invented the name for gravity and came up with the laws of gravity. befroe newton there was no name for gravity it just happened.
