Observing the diameter of a straw in a tall (clear) glass of water is great demonstration of refraction.
A partly-filled glass of water that is placed on a sunny window sill will show a rainbow when the sunlight hits it just right.

Answer #2:
I encounter it every morning when I put my glasses on.
it is where an objects light 'path' changes direction as it slows down or speeds up. it slows down when it is going through a solid as it has to make its way through a smaller space :)
In rooms where a light is on.
The change in direction is called refraction.
It is Refraction
Refraction ~ look to related link below .
refraction
It is called refraction, but some material bounces off the light and it is called reflection.
What is Refraction?? What is Refraction??

Refraction is better.
It is refraction
Atomic refraction is very high.
Q: How do you think increasing a medium's index of refraction might affect the angle of refraction?
it is called refraction
