Are you looking for solar covers? Above ground or inground pool?

ANSW:: If you are talking about the pool shell and finish itself and not the surface of the water then the darker the finish the better. Black, in So. Calif, is and has been a current favorite. But you have to deal with that "lagoon" look. There are people who do not like that look. A disadvantage to the black is that if you are not dilligent with pool chemistry you can end up with black algae....it is hard to see in a black finished pool. Another is that, again, if you are not right on with chemicals you can end up with a nearly white pool within a few years. It could be calcium buildup ( white to gray look - aggressive water - high pH ) . It could be, again, aggressive water ( low pH ) sometimes loosing the cobalt in the plaster or "butter" coat - degrading the plaster to a point where the color simply is dissolved and goes int suspension. k

Does your body lose heat by conduction while in a swimming pool?

Yes, your body can lose heat by conduction while in a swimming pool. Conduction is the transfer of heat through direct contact with a cooler surface, such as the pool water, causing your body temperature to drop.

How can pool covers help to keep heat in the pool?

Pool covers help to keep heat in the pool by acting as a barrier that prevents heat from escaping through evaporation. The cover traps the heat generated by the sun during the day and prevents it from dissipating into the air at night, helping to maintain the pool's temperature.

How does a pool cover affect the heating of the water in a pool?

A pool cover helps to retain heat in the water by preventing heat loss through evaporation and convection. This can help to keep the water warmer and reduce the amount of energy needed to heat the pool.

How can I efficiently heat my swimming pool during the colder months?

One efficient way to heat your swimming pool during colder months is to use a solar pool heater. This system uses energy from the sun to warm the water in your pool, reducing energy costs and environmental impact. Additionally, using a pool cover when the pool is not in use can help retain heat and prevent heat loss.

Why a swimming pool is colder on a windy day?

On a windy day, the wind causes increased evaporation from the surface of the water in the pool. Evaporation is a cooling process, so as the water evaporates, it takes away heat from the remaining water, causing the overall temperature of the pool to drop. Additionally, the wind can also carry away heat more effectively from the surface of the water, making the pool feel colder.

Is krystal krete a good pool surface?

Krystal Krete is considered a good pool surface for its durability and aesthetic appeal. It offers a smooth finish that is comfortable for swimmers and is resistant to staining and algae growth. Additionally, it provides good heat retention, making the pool more pleasant to swim in during cooler weather. Overall, it's a popular choice among pool owners looking for a long-lasting and visually appealing surface.

What side is up on a solar pool cover?

The side with bubbles facing up is the correct orientation for a solar pool cover. The bubbles capture sunlight and help to transfer heat to the water, while the flat side should be placed against the water's surface. This design maximizes heat retention and reduces evaporation.

Can you use a liquid solar cover with a solar pool cover at the same time?

Yes, you can use a liquid solar cover and a traditional solar pool cover simultaneously. The liquid solar cover creates a thin film on the water's surface to reduce evaporation and retain heat, while the physical solar cover traps heat and reduces heat loss at night. Using both together can enhance the overall efficiency of heat retention in your pool. However, ensure that the liquid cover is compatible with the pool chemicals you are using.

How do you make heat in a pool with the sun?

Hi there,A few ways:solar heater - solar panels either on the ground or a roof with water from the pool being pumped through themsolar pool cover - a cover directly on the pool surface which helps trap heat from the sun and also prevents evaporation (biggest cause of heat loss)chemical "blanket" - a commercially available product which creates a thin layer on the surface of your pool to help trap heat and reduce evaporation - last about 30 dayssolar rings - these float on the pool surface and join together with magnets to form a kind of pool cover to heat water and slow evaporation.ALWAYS try to use a pool cover first as evaporation causes about 80% of pool heat loss.

Does hayward heat pro work?

We've had many people buy a Hayward Heat Pro heat pump for their pool. Whether or not it is the best for your pool depends on your pool and where you live. Here's a link to the Hayward Heat Pro: http://shop.bluehaven.com/product/hayward-heat-pro/hayward-pool-heaters

What is the best way to heat the water in inflatable swimming pools?

There are many ways to heat the water within an inflatable swimming pool. Ofcourse there are the standard electrical pool heaters, but often these are costly and are best for long term investment. There is a more cost effective way to heat the pool that is using a Solar Cover that goes above and covers the pool. It uses the heat of the sun to trap the heat and gradually the water in pool should become warmer.

Why does the concrete around the swimming pool stay warmer than the pool water?

The concrete around the swimming pool tends to stay warmer than the pool water due to its thermal properties and heat retention capabilities. Concrete absorbs and retains heat from sunlight more effectively than water, which has a higher specific heat capacity and can cool down more quickly. Additionally, the shallow layer of water in the pool allows for faster heat loss through evaporation and convection, while the concrete remains insulated from these processes. As a result, the concrete can feel noticeably warmer, especially in sunny conditions.

How soon can you heat a new pebble tech pool?

You can typically heat a new Pebble Tec pool within a few days after the initial fill, provided that the plaster has cured adequately, which usually takes about 7 to 14 days. It’s important to follow the manufacturer's guidelines for curing to avoid damaging the surface. Heating the pool too soon can lead to issues like surface discoloration or cracking. Always consult with your pool contractor for specific recommendations based on your pool's conditions.

What type of swimming pool is best in a cold weather climate?

"Best" in cold weather climates would probably be an indoor pool. Most outdoor (either above-ground or in-ground) pools need to be completely drained (or always heated) during the Winter in cold weather climates, so that substantial ice does not freeze, expand, and crack open the side walls of the pool. You might also consider a darker pool surface since it will help keep the pool warmer by absorbing heat.
