It is because of newton's third law ......

According to this law , every action has an equal and opposite reaction .

Therefore , when a gun is shot ( here the action force ) , the bullet is fired out (released) from the gun with a high force . As a result the gun has to produce equal and opposite reaction . As a result , the gun jerks back .......

In order to reduce the " recoil " of the gun ,the mass of the gun is increased .

That's why guns are usually heavy weighted .

Under what conditions is the velocity of a body negative?

Generally, north, east, right, and forward are considered positive directions. South, west, left, and backward are considered negative directions. So if a body is moving south, west, left, or backward, its velocity is considered to be negative.

WHAT SPARK PLUG wire GOES TO WHAT PLUG ON DISTRIBUTOR 1991 caprice?

There is more than one engine and firing order available for that car. Note the direction the distributor rotor turns while cranking. The correct firing order is cast into the intake manifold.

Why does amplifier use only forward bias?

because in forward connection the internal field is in a direction of the main current so the current passes while in the backward connection it is reversed so no current passes

What are Example of acceleration which is against direction of motion?

deceleration in a linear motion (braking during driving or an object thrown up while you are standing on on earth) --> the acceleration is pointing at an opposite direction than the motion. ============================

Waves that move in one direction but wave in another direction?

Transverse waves move up and down or side to side, while longitudinal waves move in a forward and backward direction. In some cases, a wave can exhibit both transverse and longitudinal characteristics, such as a water wave where the water particles move in circular paths as the wave moves forward.

How do tonic and phasic firing patterns differ in terms of neuronal activity?

Tonic firing is a steady and continuous firing of action potentials in neurons, while phasic firing is a burst of action potentials followed by a period of inactivity. Tonic firing is more constant and maintains a baseline level of activity, while phasic firing is more dynamic and responsive to changes in stimuli.

What is the opposite of thrust?

Could a tie rod stop you from reversing and accelerating?

A tie rod connects your front tires together and running in the same direction. If they are broken your tires will not face the same direction. While they will not directly prevent your car from trying to move forward or backward, the actual direction would be terribly unpredictable. The answer is a "yes", but probably not the way you think. The car would try willingly enough, just the actual direction would be uncontrollable.

How does the angle of windind on and off base influence the volume and direction off the hair movement?

The angle of winding on and off the base can influence the volume and direction of hair movement by determining how tightly or loosely the hair is wound. A tighter wind around the base can create more volume and direction, while a looser wind can result in softer movement. The direction of winding also affects how the hair will fall once unwound - winding towards the face can create forward movement, while winding away can create backward movement.

Why can velocity be negative or positive?

Yes, "velocity" is a vector so it not only has magnitude but also direction. By convention, an object moving from left-to-right or upward is moving in a positive direction while an object moving right-to-left or downward is moving in a negative direction. "Speed" is a related term but it is a scalar. As such, it has only magnitude. A speed cannot be negative.
