∙ 15y agoWhen there are so many nails the weight is spread out over them all making the pressure on each individual one just about equal to a pinch. Heres an experiment you can try, lay one thumb tack pointed side up on a table and press your palm on it, " ouch " right? now put the whole box of them there gathered together as tight as you can and press your palm again, you can put quite a lot of pressure on your hand before it even becomes uncomfortable.. there you have it The more nails there are the less pressure there is per square inch. If there's enough nails its almost like laying on a solid surface.
