They were dezined by nature to keep heat in. But if you have ever picked up a duck you would notice it is warm to the touch. Therfore it does conduct some heat. But doesnt let that much escape. Have you ever seen a car radiator or the back of an air conditioner?

Thoes little strips of aluminum that look funny if you smash them together? That does not allow heat to easily disperce. Now look at a feather and get back to me.

Why is plastic foam fur and feathers bad conductors of heat?

Plastic foam, fur, and feathers are bad conductors of heat because they have a lot of air pockets trapped within them. Air is a poor conductor of heat, so materials that have a high amount of air trapped within them are also poor conductors of heat. This trapped air creates a barrier that prevents the easy flow of heat, helping to insulate the object or organism.

Are poor conductors of heat poor conductors of electricity?

Yes.

Is feather a good or bad conductor of heat?

Feathers are considered to be poor conductors of heat. This is because their structure traps air pockets, which inhibits the transfer of heat. As a result, feathers are often used in insulating materials to keep things warm.

What are some poor conductors of heat?

Poor conductors of heat are generally also poor conductors of electricity. These would include most gases, ceramics and man-made plastics. A vacuum will not conduct heat either.
